"ARP saved my life. Simple as that. When I gave up on myself, ARP was there every second of the way to push me to be the best and drag me out of the deep hole I was in. There are so many great things I could say, so it’s gonna be hard to condense everything. The staff is wonderful."

"I got to ARP in October of 2021 And they were all very welcoming and real. That was the first thing that made it easy to adapt into this new environment. The apartments were extremely nice and the girl community there was solid. During my stay at ARP I was able to work on me mentally, physically, and eventually spiritually. The counselors there are all great."

A Great Option for Treating Addiction

What is Partial Hospitalization?

Addiction is a multifaceted disease that requires many different types of treatment and care. Partial hospitalization programs are run by certified medical staff who have extensive experience in treating all different types of addiction, substance abuse, and co-occurring mental health conditions.

Unlike an in-person residential program, partial hospitalization programs don’t require you to live onsite. Medical supervision is provided during the hours of treatment but clients will return home after their designated hours of care. Similar to our intensive outpatient program in Atlanta, GA, partial hospitalization provides specific hours of treatment and allows you to return home after each day.

These types of programs differ in that outpatient programs typically require less hours of treatment and PHP’s tend to be more intensive, requiring more time at the treatment facility. While an outpatient program may require 2-4 hours a few days a week, PHP’s tend to require closer to 4-6 hours most days of the week. Partial hospitalization programs in Georgia are the most intensive form of outpatient treatment, and are best suited for those needing intense rehabilitation but don’t want to live onsite

How Partial Day Treatment Can Help

Benefits of Partial Hospitalization Treatment

Every individual will have a different experience with substance abuse and require different methods of treatment. Partial hospitalization treatment in Atlanta is best suited for those who require intensive rehabilitation but don’t have the desire or means to live onsite.

Partial day programs are more intense than an outpatient program, but less intense than a residential program. With partial hospitalization treatment, clients can have access to daily treatments, supervision, therapy, and progress tracking, but are able to return to their normal lives at the end of the day.

Perhaps the most noted benefit to a PHP program is the flexibility. For those who have responsibilities such as a family, a job, or a home, they may be more inclined to choose a PHP. Additionally, they tend to be much less expensive than a residential program which would benefit anyone looking for a cheaper option with comparable care.

Preparing for Partial Day treatment

What to Expect During Partial Hospitalization?

Partial hospitalization programs in Atlanta offer a wide range of therapies that are aimed at addressing a client’s addiction from every angle.
After a full evaluation, our staff will implement a specific program tailored to your needs consisting of different treatments that will be offered during your hours at the facility. Some of the treatments you can expect in a PHP program include:

Individual counseling is one of the most important and beneficial therapies in substance abuse rehabilitation. Working with certified counselors, individual counseling allows clients to use methods like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and traditional talk therapy. These methods of counseling help clients work through their emotional and mental aspects of addiction and begin to learn new thinking patterns and healthy methods of coping.

Group Therapy allows clients to connect with others going through similar situations, feel a sense of community, and understand they are not alone. Verbally talking about your experience with others and coming together to encourage and support each other is a powerful tool in substance abuse therapy.
Meditation and mindfulness classes help clients learn healthy ways to deal with stressful situations, triggers, and difficult emotions. A healthy mental state is key to a successful recovery and long term sobriety. The methods taught in our PHP at Atlanta Recovery Place will offer lifelong tools.
Understanding proper nutrition, exercise, and overall health habits will help get your body back to a state of wellbeing. Nutrition and exercise have a direct effect on mood, energy, and overall bodily function. Working with our certified nutritionists is an important part of bringing the body back to health after substance abuse and exposure to harmful toxins.
Co-occuring mental health conditions are extremely common is substance abuse, and without addressing them a full recovery is unlikely. If you have mental health conditions that contribute to your addiction, or vice versa, our licensed therapists will help you work through them and understand how they affect your life.
